AJIT & CROONIES

CLIENT : AMAR UJALA NEWSPAPER, INDIA

We chose to rely on humour to promote this leading Hindi newspaper of the country. The script was a take-off on Ajit, the famous villain of yester-years whose dialogues gave flight to the fancy of many a dialogue writer.

We used Ajits’ actual son Shehzad Khan to do the lead role of Ajit and had great fun auditioning for the role of ‘Mona Darling’, the dumb blonde of Indian cinema! We found someone who did not need to act but just played herself!! The set was created in a studio to simulate the villains den. The chains dangling in the foreground at the beginning of the jib movement were a very effective visual element.
